Our training sessions provide a wide variety of techniques and drills to improve performance and conditioning. Our focus is upon improving technical skills and basketball IQ for players to set goals and targets to reach their benchmarks. Our sessions include demonstrations, drills, and competitive play that emphasizes explosiveness, power, strength reaction time, agility, endurance, quickness and speed.
We specifically address shooting progression, offensive moves, lay-ups/finishes, rebounding, defense, passing/ball movement, dribbling/ball handling, and footwork/agility.

If you know Coach Lex, he is always training and coaching in the gym. If he is not competing in leagues throughout Virginia or watching game film with players, he is working with middle school, high school, college, and pro players in the DC metro area. He has been able to pass down his experience and training techniques as a skill coach with Drew Hanlen and Pure Sweat Basketball. Coach Lex has worked out with pro players such as, Jason Tatum, Deni Avdija, Frank Mason, Semi Ojeleye, Abdulai Bundu, and Seth Allen, to name a few. Also, he has worked out with local college players like Colin Smalls, Jordan Hairston, Aurea Gingras, Katie Benzan, and many more. Through his passion, his purpose is to help players by providing them with the skills needed to improve their game.

Elementary, Middle, and High School Group Training
Shots Up Basketball offers our elementary, middle, and high school boys and girls in grades 4 through 12 a variety of opportunities to improve their game. Our training programs, camps and clinics enable players to reach their next level development goals. Our travel teams, tournaments, and events empower our players to attain a competitive edge. Our commitment is to instill confidence on and off the court, strong work ethic, focus through basketball skill development, and strengthen knowledge of the game.

Shooting Specific Training
Proper shooting form, shooting drills for repetition, or shooting machine training affords boys and girls in grades 4 through 12 multiple opportunities for shooting progression at various ranges to improve form and technique.
Our focus is combining shooting, ball handling, conditioning, and agility to replicate game intensity, speed, and action.
Players will identify and prioritize areas to improve and expand their game.
These sessions take place every Friday from 9:00 PM -10:00 PM.

Private (1-On-1) Training
The private session will consist of 1-on-1 basketball training sessions with the player and trainer. These hourly sessions will be used to develop each player by improving his/her individual skills such as ball handling, shooting form and accuracy, footwork and balance, post or perimeter scoring moves, mental preparation, and focus.

Clinics
In our 2-hour clinic, the trainer will provide players with special evaluation and instruction. Skills that will be worked on, but not limited to, are: Ball-Handling and Dribbling; Passing; Teach correct footwork; Correct lay-up form and footwork; Teach correct shooting form; and, Teach fundamentals of man to man defense (teach the concepts of close-out, on-ball, deny and help-side defense.).
